Breakdown: The Redhawks helped new students move in to their dorms during the morning and practiced in full pads at 4 p.m. at Rosengarten Athletic Complex.

Play of the Day: Cornerback Salim Powell went up in the air to make an impressive interception during the one-on-one section between wide receivers and corners.

High Energy: The most intense part of practice was the one-one-one period between the receivers and corners. Receivers Daryl Gist, Vincent Anderson, Michael Williamson, Miles Edwards, Chante Ahamefule, Brad Stewart, Shominic Zaid and Richard Samuel all made nice catches while corners Chris Nelson, Eddie Calvin, Romae Rucker, Mukai Matsiga, William Castro, Brandon Thompson and Cory Holmes all broke up passes. The coaches of each side, Lorenzo Brinkley and Kenny Wilhite, were just as fired up as the players. Wilhite was seen running around, down on the ground and jumping to congratulate corners after pass break-ups.

QB Competition: The quarterback competition continues to be a dead heat between juniors Houston Lillard and Victor Anderson. They split snaps as they have all camp on Thursday. Steve Callanan and Jared Van Slyke have also received a lot of reps and impressed throughout camp.

Saturday Scrimmage: Saturday, the Redhawks will hold their second game-like scrimmage a 8 p.m., under the lights at Houck Stadium. The public is encouraged to attend. Come out and support the 2007 Southeast Missouri State football team!
