Munsell Foundation Endows Mark Munsell Memorial Scholarship

Oct. 5, 2005

Cape Girardeau, Mo. - The family and friends of the late Mark Munsell, a four-year football letterman at Southeast Missouri State University, have endowed a football scholarship to honor the former standout lineman.

Munsell played as a defensive lineman and deep snapper for Southeast from 1991-1994. He died unexpectedly on Nov. 4, 2003.

Led by his wife, Jill, the Mark Munsell Foundation was formed and the Foundation donated money to endow the Mark Munsell Memorial Scholarship.

Munsell's wife, other family members, and several Southeast football teammates will be honored in pre-game ceremonies on Saturday night prior to the Southeast vs. Eastern Illinois football game.

A graduate of Ft. Zumwalt North High School in O'Fallon, Mo., Munsell signed a professional football contract with the Memphis Mad Dogs of the Canadian Football League after his graduation from Southeast.

A minimum donation of $10,000 is required to endow a scholarship at Southeast Missouri State.
