CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO. (October 10, 2000) - A day after winning the Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week award, Ricky Farmer has been awarded a national award.

Farmer was named the Teamlink/CFAA Division I-AA National Newcomer of the Week for his performance against Tennessee Tech last weekend. In his first collegiate game Farmer, a Fort Myers, Fla. native, recorded 19 tackles at linebacker against the Golden Eagles.
