Football to Host National 'Take a Kid to the Game' Football Program This Weekend More than 250,000 kids nationwide have attended an NCAA Football game through annual program.
Oct. 29, 2001 CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Local youth will have an opportunity to experience NCAA Football and the college game-day atmosphere when Southeast Missouri State hosts NCAA Football's annual "Take a Kid to the Game" (TAKG) program on November 3. Kids age 15 and under will receive a free ticket with the purchase of a full-priced adult ticket, to watch the Indians take on the Colonels of Eastern Kentucky at Houck Stadium at 6:00 p.m. TAKG is entering its seventh year in the promotion of NCAA Athletics and fourth for NCAA Football. The Take a Kid to the Game program saw a record number of schools (181) participate last year in this campaign, which is focused on attracting more of the nation's youth to college games. "The Take a Kid to the Game program is a wonderful opportunity to introduce the youth of our community to NCAA Football," said Don Kaverman, Southeast's athletic director. "This is also a great chance for our school to gain some new fans." Tickets for this special game can be purchased at the Southeast ticket office.
