Senior football defensive end Edgar Jones, senior punter David Simonhoff and junior linebacker Adam Casper have been named to the All-Ohio Valley Conference first team. The team is selected by OVC head football coaches and sports information directors.
Jones, 6-5, 250, led the nation in quarterback sacks and ranked fourth nationally in tackles for losses. He averaged 1.2 quarterback sacks per game and 1.8 tackles for loss per game. Jones had a total of 53 tackles with 18 tackles for losses of 103 yards and 12 sacks for 88 yards in losses. He also had two quarterback hurries, two pass break ups and forced a fumble.
Simonhoff, 6-2, 200, is the first team all-OVC punter for the third straight year. He averaged 44.8 yards per punt with 15 punts inside the 20 and a long of 75 yards.. Simonhoff led the OVC in punting for three straight years and ranks second nationally this season.
Casper, 6-1, 230, was second in the league in total tackles 108 including 63 solo stops. He also had six tackles for losses of 13 yards, intercepted a pass and returned it 13 yards, had three pass break ups, one quarterback hurry, recovered to fumbles and blocked a kick
