Simonhoff, Jones Named To Sports Network All-America Team

Cape Girardeau, Mo. - The honors continue to roll in for Southeast Missouri State University seniors David Simonhoff and Edgar Jones.

The Sports Network has selected Simonhoff as its first team All-America punter while Jones was selected for the second team All-America defense.

Simonhoff, who was named to the Walter Camp first-team All-America last week was also second team All-America by the Associated Press. He was named to at least one All-America team as a sophomore, junior and senior.

Simonhoff averaged 44.8 yards per punt this season with 15 punts inside the 20 and a long of 75 yards. He led the OVC in punting for three straight years and ranked second nationally this season.

Jones, who is in Jackson, Miss., this week preparing for Saturday's Magnolia Gridiron Classic all-star game, led the nation in sacks this season with an average of 1.2 per game. He was fourth nationally in tackles for losses with 1.8 per game.

Jones, 6-5, 250, was named a first team All-American by the Associated Press. The Magnolia Gridiron Classic will be played at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Jackson, Miss., beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday..
