Coach Williams enters his 23rd season as head golf coach at Southeast Missouri State University this year.He has been a part of the Southeast Missouri State University Department of Athletics for 49 years and has served in a variety of capacities. Coach Williams has been assistant baseball coach, assistant and head men's basketball coach, assistant professor in the Department of Physical Education, and also served as Interim Director of Athletics for two years.

There are lots of coachs in the Williams family. Coach William's wife Debbie is the middle school track coach at Scott Co. R IV Public Schools. His oldest son Steve was the only two time All American at Southeast in baseball and is currently head baseball coach and assisant football coach at Cape Girardeau Central High School. His youngest son, Kevin, played basketball at St. Louis University and is currently an assistant basketball coach at Southeast Missouri after leading Caruthersville High School to their first District Championship in 2002.

It is fair to say athletics runs deep in the Williams family.
