Indians Golf Finishes 7th at Billiken Invite
St. Louis, Mo. (April 15, 2003) - The Southeast Missouri State Indian Golf team finished seventh out of 15 teams today at the Saint Louis University Billiken Invitational in the final match up before the OVC Tournament. Southeast finished 19 strokes off the leader and team champion Southern Illinois University. Missouri-Kansas City, Marquette, IUPUI, and Eastern Illinois rounded out the top five. Matt Hillis finished tied for fifth and was the top individual for the Tribe. Saint Louis' Evan Frederick won the individual title with a two over par 215. IUPUI's Josh Oldham and UMKC's Ryan Alsleben finished tied for second while Matt Hopkins of Lindenwood was fourth. Tim Hoss of SIU and Tim Helm of UMKC finished tied with Hillis for fifth. Other Individual scores for Southeast included Jimmy Blose, tied for 8th, Kent Phillips tied for 37th, Woody Hill, tied for 61st and Brian Sheehan tied for 65th. The Tribe now prepares for the OVC Tournament that will begin on April 28 at Paducah, Kentucky. |
