Golf Team in 4th After Day 1 of Harris Fall Classic

JACKSON, Mo. - The Southeast Missouri State men's golf team stands in 4th place after two rounds of the Harris Fall Classic at the Kimbeland Country Club in Jackson, Mo. They are 15 strokes behind leader University of Missouri-Kansas City with their combined score of 577 (287/290). Sophomore Zack Decker leads the team with a score of 142 (E) two rounds. Overall he stands tied for 10th in individual action. Decker used nine birdies and shot -3 in Par 5 holes to help him to his score. Seniors Matt Hillis and Brandon Couch are both tied for 13th with scores of 144 (+2). Hillis shot 28 pars in 36 holes to help him his score. Couch kept pace with 27 pars. Sophomore Mark Schmitz stands at 19th place (147/+5) and senior Brian Sheehan (148/+6) round out the top day-one finishers with his 25th place showing. As a team the Indians have shot -5 in Par 5's and lead all teams in pars with 123. Alan Johnson (UMKC) leads the individual scores with a 135 (-7).
