Southeast Golf Finishes Tied For Seventh At Illinois State

Normal, Ill. (September 18, 2002) - The Southeast Missouri State Golf Team finished up the D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate yesterday by finishing seventh overall tied with Eastern Illinois University, 23 shots off the lead.

Southwest Missouri won the tournament by shooting a seven-over 859. Nothern Iowa, Drake and Saint Louis University rounded out the top five.

Marc Cahalan of Northern Iowa won the tournament by shooting a four-under 209. he was followed by Jason Reddington of Evansville, Mike Lewis of Northern Iowa, Matto Brooks of Drake and Adam Trower of Saint Louis. Southeast's Kent Phillips finished tied for seventh just six strokes off the lead.

Other notables for Southeast included Jimy Blose, tied for 39th at a 222, Matt Hillis, tied at 49th with a 224, Brian Sheehan, tied at 61st with a 227 and Woody Hill, tied at 63rd wit ha 229.

Southeast is now off for a couple of weeks before picking it up again on October 6-8 in Peoria, Ill. for the Bradley Fall Classic.
