Southeast Golf Is Getting in the Swing Of Things
Feb. 19, 2004 Cape Girardeau - The Southeast golf team kicks of its season February 21-23 in Philadelphia, Miss at the Pizza Hut Classic. The tournament is hosted by Jackson State and is at the Dancing Rabbit Club. Coach Carrol Williams who is in his 23 year of coaching says the team will hopefully "get a chance to go outside and play before the tournament." The team has not had that many chances to play outside since the beginning of the year due to cold weather. The team will take its top six players to the Pizza Hut Classic. The top six players are Brandon Couch, Brian Sheehan, Matt Hillis, Kent Phillips, Zack Decker, and Mark Schmitz.
Last fall was teams last action beating Tennesse- Martin by one stroke on October 21, 2003. Tennesse- Martin was the only other team from the OVC in the tournament.
