Southeast Golf Heads To Martin For Tri-State Classic Tennessee-Martin plays host to 14-team tournament
Cape Girardeau, Mo. (March 3, 2002) - The Southeast Missouri State golf team will be at the University of Tennessee at Martin this Monday and Tuesday to compete in the Tri-State Classic at Winfield Dunn Golf Course at Pickwick Landing State Park. Southeast is coming off a third-place team finish, and a second-place individual finish from Brian Johnson at the Pizza Hut/Bell South Classic at Jackson State University. Golf teams from 14 universities will participate in the Tri-State Classic March 4-5 at Pickwick. The University of Tennessee at Martin will serve as host for the two-day, 54-hole tournament that gets under way at 8:30 a.m., Monday, March 4. Golfers will play 36 holes Monday and 18 holes Tuesday. Other teams participating in the tournament include UT-Martin, Belmont University, Lipscomb University, the University of North Alabama, Saint Louis University, Centenary College, Tennessee Tech, Morehead State, Murray State, University of Evansville, Lewis University, Samford University and the University of Missouri, Kansas City. Southeast will have a week off after this tournament and then will travel to New Orleans to compete in the Bob Brown Invitational March 13. The event is hosted by the University of New Orleans. |
