Southeast Golf Tied For Eighth After First Day At Tri-State Classic Senior Bryan Johnson tied for third overall
Martin, Tenn. (March 5, 2002) - The Southeast Missouri State University Golf team is tied for eighth place after one day of competition as they compete at the Tri-State Classic hosted by UT-Martin. Southeast is 31 shots off the lead as Tennessee Tech University holds a seven-shot lead over second place Morehead State. Tech is at two-under as a team and Morehead is five over par. Lipscomb University winds out the top three as they are 11 over. Southeast senior Bryan Johnson shot a one-under 71 to end the day tied for third with Scott Carpenter of UT-Martin, Brad Sewell of Tech, and Matt Cushman of Morehead. Other notables for the Indians were Jimmy Blose, tied for 29th at five over, Brian Sheean, tied at 46th with an eight over, Matt Hillis, tied for 57th at nine over and Woody Hill in 71st with a 12 over par.
