Southeast Golf Tied For Fifth After First Day Of Ironhorse Team seven strokes off lead going into final round
Tuscola, Ill. (October 15, 2001) - After two rounds of golf at Ironhorse Golf Course in Tuscola, Ill., the Indian golf team is having their best tournament so far this season tied for fifth, seven strokes off the lead. SEMO is tied with the host squad Eastern Illinois, behind UMKC the overall leader, Tennessee State, SIU, and DePaul University. UMKC and Tennessee State have the overall individual leaders, as well, in Matt Willmott and Mark Searle. The Indians top golfer is senior Bryan Johnson tied at 10th, with a first round three-over 73. Junior Jimmy Blose is tied at 17th, one stroke behind his teammate with a 74. Other golfers include junior Woody Hill tied at 25th, freshman Matt Hillis, tied at 42nd, and junior Mark Horn tied at 51st. All five of SEMO's golfers are separated only by five strokes. The tournament is scheduled to conclude late Tuesday afternoon and final stats should be ready sometime around 6 p.m. |
