Chris Harris enters his first season as an assistant coach at Southeast. Harris comes to Cape Girardeau after spending the last two seasons as the associate head coach and recruiting coordinator at Martin Methodist College, an NAIA school located in Pulaski, Tenn.

"Chris brings a lot of good experience as a head coach and an assistant coach to Southeast," said Coach Ishee. "He is a great recruiter and will help with all phases of the program."

A 13-year coaching veteran, Harris helped guide the RedHawks to a record for the most victories in program history with a 19-13 record this past season to go along with an appearance in the TranSouth Athletic Conference Tournament semifinals.

Prior to coaching at Martin Methodist, he was an assistant coach at Alabama-Huntsville in 2004-05 and helped UAH to a berth in the Gulf South Conference Tournament for only the third time in school history. In 2002, Harris was the head coach at Connors State College in Warner, Okla., after serving as an assistant coach at New Mexico State in 2001, where he helped the Aggies post their best team record in six seasons and led the nation in made three-point field goals.

Harris led Houston Baptist University in the program's first-ever season to a 25-9 record, a NAIA final national ranking of #25 and an appearance in the 1998 NAIA National Tournament. His team was also ranked nationally in several offensive categories, including team scoring offense, team three-point percentage and team rebounding margin.

A native of Nashville, Tenn., Harris graduated from Oklahoma Panhandle State University in 1995 with a B.S. degree in Health, Physical Education and Recreation.
