Southeast Missouri State Otahkians (11-6, 4-3)
vs. IP-Fort Wayne Mastodons (4-14)
Game 18 * January 23, 2002 * 7:00 p.m. CT
Show Me Center (7,000) * Cape Girardeau, Mo.

About Southeast: After dropping three straight home conference matchups, Southeast responded with a fabulous week, winning three OVC games, two of which were on the road as the Otahkians improved their road mark to 5-2 this season. This week they return home for two contests before going back on the road for four straight.

Before facing Austin Peay on Saturday, Southeast entertains the Mastodons of IP-Fort Wayne. IPFW, in its first season of Division I basketball, has struggled at times this season as they face tough competition on the road. IPFW has had trouble holding its opponents from scoring in bunches, as their opponents average almost 80 points per game and shoot almost 50% from the field.

Last week was a big week for two Otahkians, as Pam Iversen and Lori Chase both had great performances. Iversen became the 12th Otahkian to score 1,000 points in a career by posting 12 points at Murray State on Saturday. Iversen also moved up to 6th place on the SEMO rebounding list and 3rd on the career blocks list.

Chase was naemd OVC Player of the Week after averaging 19.3 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.3 steals per game. Against TSU last week, she recorded a season-high 31 points and grabbed 11 rebounds while hitting 12-15 from the free-throw line. The 12 FT makes were more than the entire TSU team attempted for the entire game.
