Southeast Missouri State Otahkians (12-10, 4-7)
vs. Eastern Kentucky Lady Colonels (17-5, 9-2)
Game 23 * February 9, 2002 * 4:30 p.m. CT
McBrayer Arena (6,500) * Richmond, Ky.

About Southeast: Southeast enters Saturday's contest in the middle of a four-game losing streak, the team's longest since the beginning of the 2000-01 season. The last time out, Southeast fell behind 14-2 to Morehead State early and despite making a great effort in a comeback, the Otahks were unable to give over the hump and take the lead and ending up falling 79-72.

Junior forward Lori Chase should reach a milestone tonight as she needs only six points to become the 13th Otahkian to score 1,000 points in a career. Senior center Pam Iversen reached the 1,000 point plateau earlier this season. Chase and Iversen are the first players to join the club in the same season since Sarita Wesley and Jerri Wiley did so in 1991 when Southeast reached the Division II National Championship game.

Eastern Kentucky enters today's game in first place in the OVC with a 9-2 record. Tennessee Tech and Austin Peay are both on the heels of the Lady Colonels, both sitting at eight wins, although EKU has defeated Tech twice this season and split the series with APSU. EKU's two conference losses were to Austin Peay in Clarksville and Murray State at home.

Tonight's game also marks the end of a brutual four-game road stretch for Southeast, that has not seen the Otahks win a game as of yet. Following tonight's game, Southeast will be back at home for three straight games, including February 18 which will be both Senior Day and Ed Arnzen's final home game at the Show Me Center as Otahkian coach.
