Battle for the OVC Supremacy: Redhawks Face Co-Leader Eastern Kentucky

Feb. 16, 2005

Southeast extended their winning streak to ten games with a 74-54 victory over Tennessee State on Saturday at the Show Me Center. Their current winning streak is their longest winning streak since jumping up to the Division I ranks after the 1990-91 season.

The win also extended the Redhawks home winning streak against OVC opponents to 14 games dating back to last season.

Southeast will travel to Richmond, Kentucky to face OVC co-leader Eastern Kentucky (16-7, 11-1 OVC) for what could possibly be the OVC regular season crown on Thursday in the McBrayer Arena with tip-off at 4:30 p.m. The game can be heard live on C-106 FM or on www.gosoutheast.com.

Eastern Kentucky leads the all-time series with a record of 23-4 against Southeast. Southeast snapped a 6-game losing-streak to the Lady Colonels last season with a 88-78 victory at the Show Me Center. Southeast has never beat Eastern Kentucky on the road.

The Lady Colonels have won 14-straight home contests, including a record of 9-0 this season and have won eight-straight games overall.
