CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri State head coach John Ishee announced that Karley Evans has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Redhawks in 2010-11.

A 5'9" guard, Evans spent the last two seasons at Mineral Area College, where she earned First-Team All-Region XVI honors. She led her team and conference in assists (178) and free throw percentage (.850) last season. Evans also averaged nearly six assists (5.9) per game and ranked 11th in the nation in free throw percentage.

"Karley is a great shooter who brings college experience to our program," said Ishee. "She is a complete student, citizen and player. We're excited that she's going to provide the ability to score and be a team leader."

Evans, who hails from Rock Port, Mo., averaged 11.2 points and 4.9 rebounds in 30 games during her final season at Mineral Area. She ranked second on the team in both of those categories.

Evans joins forward Brooke Taylor (Bismarck, Mo./Bismarck H.S.) in the 2010-11 class. Taylor, a four-time All-State performer, signed with the Redhawks in November.
