Lewis-Moore Named Assistant Women's Basketball Coach

April 21, 2007

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri State women's basketball head coach John Ishee has announced the appointment of Angela Lewis-Moore as an assistant coach, beginning with the 2007-08 season. Lewis-Moore comes to the Redhawks after serving one season as an assistant at Webster University, an NCAA Division III school in St. Louis.

"I'm very ecstatic to have Angie joining our coaching staff. I had the privilege of coaching her during her freshman year at Saint Louis, where she became an outstanding player, student and ambassador to the university," said Ishee. "I think that she will make an immediate impact for our student-athletes based on her collegiate and professional playing experience along with her outstanding leadership in the classroom. I'm also looking to her in being an immediate recruiter and I could not be happier with her joining the Redhawks."

Lewis-Moore was a four-year letterwinner at Saint Louis University under former Southeast player and assistant coach Jill Pizotti, where she was named the school's Female Athlete of the Year in 2004 and twice captured Third Team All-Conference USA accolades. She ranks sixth in school history in points (1,300) and rebounds (659) and she earned the Robin Roberts/WBCA Sports Communication Scholarship in her senior season. After completing her collegiate career at Saint Louis, Lewis-Moore played for TV Bensburg of the Women's Bundesliga League in Bensburg, Germany during the 2004-05 season.

"This is an amazing opportunity for me to be part of a good basketball program like Southeast. Coach Ishee is very knowledgeable of the game and I'm very humbled that he called me to be a part of his coaching staff," said Lewis-Moore. "I'm looking to help these ladies continue their success that they have achieved over the last two years."

Lewis-Moore served as an assistant coach at Metro High School in St. Louis in 2005-06 before coaching at Webster this past season and she earned her master's degree in communications from SLU in December, 2006.
