Redhawks Announce Final Recruit Of Early Signing Period

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (Monday, November 17, 2008) - Redhawks women's basketball head coach John Ishee has announced the signing of a seventh and final player to a National Letter of Intent for Southeast. Monica Miller finalized the largest signing class under Coach Ishee as she will join the Redhawks team for the 2009-2010 season.

Miller is a 5’9” guard/small forward from Lausanne Prep School out of Memphis, Tennessee. Miller averaged 8.2 points and 4.4 rebounds per game last season as she helped lead her team to a 30-3 record and the TSSAA Division II State Championship, where she was named the State Tournament Most Valuable Player.

Miller was named to the 2007 All-District, All-League Division II, All-Metro and All-State teams as a junior. This season Miller has been named a team captain and was named to the 2008 Pre-Season All-District team.

Miller will join incoming freshman Shelah Fields, Brittany Harriel, Jasmine Lewis, Shanece Miller, Bailie Roberts and Erika Lane as new additions to the Redhawks program for the 2009-2010 season.
