Tiffanne Ryan's Hawaii Journal: Day 3

Dec. 10, 2004

Junior Guard Tiffanne Ryan kept a journal during the women's basketball team's trip to Hawaii to participate in the Waikiki Beach Marriott Invitational.

Thursday, December 9, 2004: Day 3

Well, today started off very similar to yesterday. We had film and breakfast at 10:00 a.m. (2:00 p.m. CST).

After that we had a little free time to ourselves. Most of the girls either walked around and shopped or took a nap. Coach BJ went running along the beach, Coach "Q" and Kat (Katrina Colwell) went to the beach and Patrick went surfing.

After a short shoot around and our pre-game meal at Tony Romas we headed back to the hotel with two hours to focus and prepare for the game.

Southeast would lose to host Hawai'i 79-69. Ryan made a three-pointer for her only points of the game.

The game ended in disappointment for us. We lost by ten and it was simply because of a bunch of mental mistakes on our point; just a lack of focus and intensity.

But now as we prepare for bed, we end the day knowing that in order to turn this around and come out with a win against a tough BYU team tomorrow we must, to quote Coach BJ: "Do it right the first time!"

Goodnight.
