Matthew Worthington has now stepped into his role as a Graduate Assistant in the Athletic Academic Advising Office after being a student assistant in the Southeast Sports Information Department for the last year and a half.

Worthington serves as the primary media contact for the gymnastics program where he handles the day-to-day media request, creates media guides and makes contributions to GoSoutheast.com. Worthington is also the Public Address Announcer for volleyball, soccer, gymnastics and baseball. In addition, he is a statistician during basketball (men and women's) and football games.

Worthington is currently a first-year graduate student in the AACSB Accredited, Master of Business Administration (MBA) program here at Southeast. He completed his undergraduate degree at Southeast where he majored in Sport Management and minored in Business Administration.

Originally from Cairo, Ill., Worthington graduated from Cairo High School where he was named the 1996 Male Athlete of the Year and was a member of the National Honor Society and Beta Club. He competed on the basketball and football teams during all four years of high school and spent two years on the tennis and baseball teams.
