Cape Girardeau, Mo. (January 18, 2002) - Behind four individual event winners and the all-around champion, the Southeast Missouri Otahkian Gymnastics squad brought home its first win of the season as they took care of Northern Illinois and Wisconsin - La Crosse Friday night at Houck Field House.

Southeast had an overall team score of 188.650, its highest team total this season. They had the individual event champion in each event as sophomore Ashley Godwin took home the vault for the third-straight time this season with a score of 9.625. She also took home the all-around for the Otahks. Godwin shared the bars title with junior Amy Cole as both had a 9.675 on the event. Cole was second in the all-around.

Senior Michelle Walker claimed the individual titles on both the beam and floor, as she garnered a 9.425 and 9.750, respectively. Her floor routine, along with the rest of the squad's capped off an amazing victory for the Otahks.

Northern Illinois had an overall score 185.900. They were led by Kristina Campos, who finished third in the all-around and the bars, as well as second in the vault.

Wisconsin - La Crosse finished third with a score of 180.400. Although the team finished third, it was their highest overall score this season. They were led by Jenny Moore who finished sixth in the all-around. She had a 9.275 in the floor exercise.

Southeast next goes to Columbia Mo, this Sunday to take on the Tigers of the University of Missouri. The dual will begin at 2 p.m. in the Hearnes Center.
