Columbia, Mo. (January 20, 2002) - The Otahkian Gymnastics squad fell short to the Tigers of Missouri in a dual at the Hearnes Center Sunday. Missouri had their highest home opener team score ever as they parlayed a 194.750 to the Otahkians 189.425. The Otahks score, however, was their highest so far this season.

Southeast (2-3, 0-2 duals), had another strong showing as they improved their team scores for the second-straight week. The Otahks strongest event continues to be the floor this season and they didn't disappoint Sunday. Senior Michelle Walker had her best routine in the event so far this season with a 9.800. First year athlete Anna Fink stepped into the line-up and scored a 9.525. Sophomore Ashley Godwin had a 9.675 and a 9.750 in the vault and bars, respectively. This was the first meet in which she failed to win the vault.

Missouri (1-1) had every event winner and the all-around champion as every athlete scored a 9.225 or higher. They were led by Alina Hamm, who won the all-around with a score of 39.100. Hamm won the beam with a score of 9.775. Alisha Robinson, who finished second in the all-around to her teammate just a mere .025 off the pace. Robinson won the bars and vault with scores of 9.900, and 9.800.

Southeast next will play host to Centenary College and the University of Wisconsin - Oskosh this Saturday at 1 p.m. in Houck Field House.
