Final Stats

Chicago, Ill. (February 2, 2002) - The Otahkian Gymnastics team squared off against the Flames of Illinois-Chicago, Saturday, but came away on the short end of the meet as they lost by less than two points 191.400-189.675.

The Otahks were led by sophomore Ashley Godwin who won the All-Around competition with a score of 38.575. Godwin shared the bars title with a score of 9.750. Senior Stephanie Furman made her return to the line-up as she placed second and third in the beam and vault. She had a 9.675 on the beam and a 9.600 on the vault. Junior Amy Cole was second in the All-Around.

UIC had individual winners in all four events, but placed no one in the All-Around. They were led by their strong floor routine that garnered a 48.900 team score and saw the top four place winners from their team.

Southeast Missouri (4-5, 0-3) will be in action back at home this Saturday at Houck Field House against the University of Iowa. The meet will start at 7 p.m.
