CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - (Sunday, March 6, 2005)

36th Ranked Southeast gymnastics (192.975) sent its three seniors off with a solid home performance and a win over conference rival Illinois State University (189.125).

"This was a tremendous performance after Friday's road meet at Missouri". "I am extremely satisfied from the overall team effort".

Starting the meet off right, Freshman Danyelle Aber (Gurnee, IL) collected her first career win with a 9.7. Rounding out the top three were junior Tara Boldt and freshman Jennifer Kaye. "We had great performances from all of our competitors on vault."

The next event, uneven bars, would be Southeast's second sweep of the top three spots. Senior Katie Bloom came in first, junior Tara Boldt was second and freshman Allison Ezell placed third.

The third rotation was balance beam and the Redhawks have started to turn things up on this event - junior Tara Boldt and freshman Allison Ezell were first and third place respectively. Cashing in five outstanding performances, the Redhawks won that event by over a point.

On the final event Alexis Traylor demonstrated why she has been seated deep in the line up for much of her career. Lighting it up she posted a blistering 9.85 and won the event. Following in a close second Tara Boldt (9.775) and in fourth was Allison Ezell.

Southeast swept the top three spots in the all around. Coming in first place was junior Tara Boldt (38.850), freshman Allison Ezell (38.625) and senior Katie Bloom (38.075).

"I have been starting to stress the need for focusing on our team and our teams' performance, today they responded with a solid performance." The Redhawks won each event and distanced themselves by three points by the end of the fourth rotation. "If our team wants to make an NCAA tournament birth we need to be at this pace or better for the rest of the season."

Southeast is on the road next, at Centenary College, Saturday, March 12th at 4:00 p.m.
