Gymnasts Fall At Kentucky

Final Stats

Lexington, Ky. - The Southeast Missouri State University gymnastics squad (5-10) gave a great effort today in Lexington, Ky. but fell short to the UK WildKats and the Denver Pioneers. The Otahkians took third with a team score of 192.950.

Otahkian junior, Ashley Godwin took sixth in the all-around with a score of 39.100. Godwin tied for third on the floor with a 9.850, took sixth on beam with a 9.725, tied for 10th on the vault with a score of 9.750, and tallied a 9.775 on the bars. Freshman, Deanna Ogg had an impressive 9.850 on the bars taking fourth place. The Otahkians took second on bars with a 49.550.

The Pioneers swept first with a team score of 195.450. They conquered three of the four events, with a 49.125 on the vault, 49.025 on bars, and 49.250 on floor. The WildKats took second with a team score of 194.700. Two of the three all-around competitors for UK tied for first with an all-around score of 39.400.

The Otahkians travel to Illinois State University on March 17, at 6:00 p.m. where they will compete against the Redbirds.
