Tara Boldt Wins MIC Gymnast of the Week Honors
Feb. 22, 2005 CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - (Tuesday, February 22, 2005) Junior Tara Boldt (Lakeville, Minn./ T.A.G.S) was named Midwest Independent Conference (MIC) Gymnast of the Week for her performance last week. It is the first honor for both Boldt and the Redhawks gymnastics team. Boldt, who is currently ranked 44th nationally in the all-around with an average score of 38.250, won her third all-around title of the season against 35th-ranked Bowling Green and Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Her all-around score of 38.975 was a season-high. Boldt also set season-highs on the beam (9.800) and in the floor exercises (9.850). In dual with 33rd-ranked Kent State finished third in all-around. She set a season-high on the uneven bars with a score of 9.700. The MIC is made up of five schools; Southeast Missouri State, Illinois State, Illinois-Chicago, Centenary and Texas Women's University, who vote on the weekly award. Boldt and the Redhawks return to the gym this weekend when they host Wisconsin-LaCrosse on Saturday, February 26 at the Houck Field House. Start time for the dual meet is 1:00 p.m.
