Redhawks Gymnastics Host Outback Invitational at the Show Me Center

The Redhawks gymnastics team return home to host the Outback Invitational at the Show Me Center on Sunday, March 5 at 1:00 p.m. The Redhawks will host 9th-ranked Missouri, Ball State and Midwest Independent Conference rival Centenary College. The meet will also be the last meet for two Redhawks seniors as the Redhawks will honor Tara Boldt and Amanda Grimes before the meet.

The Redhawks are coming off their best meet of the season when they finished second at the Texas Woman's Quadrangular Meet in Denton, Texas last weekend. The Redhawks scored a season-high 193.050 and had two individual titles. Maureen Grimaldi recorded a season's-best score of 9.850 on the uneven bars to take honors. Teammate Danyelle Aber had her best meet in her young career as she won her first all-around title with a career-best 38.875. That score and setting two more career-highs on the floor and vault earned her MIC Gymnast of the Week honors. She is the second Redhawk to win the award as Sandra Blake has been honored twice this season.

Mizzou has been ranked in the top-10 most of the season as they have compiled a record of 8-8 (0-3 Big 12) and currently have an Regional Qualifying Score (RQS) of 195.780. Ball State heads into the match-up with a record of 1-10 (1-4 MAC) and an RQS of 186.580 which ranks 58th nationally. Centenary is currently 5-7 (0-1 MIC) and has an RQS of 187.615 which is 54th nationally. The Redhawks currently have a record of 6-4 (2-2 MIC) and rank 46th nationally with an RQS of 190.740.
