Gymnasts Spend Time With Kids At Blanchard School

March 8, 2007

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - (Thursday, March 08, 2007) Southeast gymnastics spent a couple afternoons with children from Blanchard Elementary School of Cape Girardeau, Mo., this week.

The students came to Parker Gymnasium to watch the squad practice and to complete an assignment based on what they observed. The gymnasts then went to Blanchard for an after school program and helped the students write their papers and the ladies shared some interesting gymnastics stories of their own.

Volunteering with the children at Blanchard is just one of many ways that the gymnasts give back to the local community. They participate in Big Brother/Big Sister monthly and have just recently spent time with seniors at the Missouri Veteran' Home. The gymnastics program truly sets a good example for Southeast Athletics and the community to follow.
