Southeast Redhawks Host Air Force Falcons

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – The Southeast Missouri State gymnastics squad will host the Air Force Falcons for Senior Night on Saturday evening at 7p.m.

Redhawks…

Southeast (9-3, 7-0 MIC) is coming off their seventh-straight conference victory of the season. The Redhawks defeated Centenary College 193.775-191.100.

Sophomore's Christina Sundgren (Richland, Wash./Mid-Columbia Gymnastics) and Lauren Dinan (Doniphan, Neb./Nebraska Twisters Gymnastics) shared the individual title on bars as they scored 9.725. Senior Sandra Blake (Tri-City, Wash./Mid-Columbia Gymnastics) won the individual title on the floor (9.850) and the all-around (38.825).

The Redhawks are currently No. 36 in the nation and need to hold that spot to gain a team berth to the NCAA South Central Regional.

Scouting the Falcons…

The Falcons last meet was against Hamline University on March 1. Air Force defeated Hamline 188.725-180.300.

The gymnast to watch for the Falcons is Senior Abbey Rogers. Rogers claimed her third MPSF Gymnast of the Week honor on March 3, at Wisconsin-La Crosse. She won the balance beam, floor and all-around while finishing second and third, respectively, on the vault and bars.

Promotion…

The theme for the night is “Senior Night”. Seniors Sandra Blake, Starlyn Schwartz and Jennifer Dinan will be recognized immediately following the meet.
