Cape Girardeau, Mo. (March 15, 2002) - The Otahkian Gymnastics team will be in action at home for the final time this season as they will play host to Western Michigan Friday night at 7 p.m. The meet will also be senior night for the team.

Southeast comes into the last home meet of the season looking to get back on the winning side before the Midwest Independent Championships. The Otahks are coming off a hard-fought loss to the University of Illinois in Champaign. Southeast was led by senior Ashley Godwin and junior Amy Cole who finished second and third in the all-around. Godwin finished tied for first on the floor exercise with a score of 9.825. She also finished second on the vault and fourth on the bars. Cole would finish third on the vault with a score of 9.700. Godwin moved her total of individual titles this season to 11.

Tonight's meet will be senior night for the Southeast Seniors. This year's seniors are Jessica Bagwill, Stephanie Furman, Karen Hamilton, Michelle Walker, and Elenor Wilson. All five will be competing in their last home meet at Houck Field House.

The Broncos of Western Michigan are 7-8-1 overall this season after coming off a second place finish at the Progress Energy Invitational at North Carolina State this past Friday. WMU comes in ranked 45th in the nation and 12th in the Central Region. They have a team-high score this season of 194.500 and are being led by Amy DeYoung and Kristen Maul. Both have all-around highs this year of 38.725 and 38.775, respectively. Christy Sassic has also scored a 9.925 on the floor this season.

Southeast will next be in action March 23 as they travel to Chicago to take part in the Midwest Independent Championships. They will then wait to see what gymnasts will qualify for regional competition at Arizona State on April 6.
