Gymnasts Will Compete In NCAA Regional Saturday

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - (Wednesday, April 11, 2007) On Saturday, April 14, four Southeast gymnasts will be traveling to Tucson, Ariz. to compete in the 2007 NCAA South Central Regional. This marks the most gymnasts to ever qualify for regional competition in the history of the program, apart from qualifying as a team.

Freshman Jena Nguyen (Sioux Falls, S.D./All-American) will be competing on the balance beam and is an alternate on the floor. Nguyen had an RQS of 9.77 on the beam and a 9.755 on floor this season.

2007 MIC Newcomer of the Year Rikara Turner (Hastings, Minn./Twin City Twisters), sophomore Sandra Blake (Tri-Cities, Wash./Mid Columbia) and freshman Bryanna Wong (Parkville, Mo./Edge Gymnastics) will represent Southeast on the all-around.
