Southeast Gymnast Ashley Godwin Performed at NCAA Regionals

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Southeast Missouri State Women's Gymnastics athlete Ashley Godwin was able to perform as independent at the 2003 South Central Regionals this weekend at Columbia, Missouri.

Godwin scored a 9.925 on floor tying for second place. Jamie Dantzscher of No. 1 ranked UCLA took first on floor with a 10.000 and teammate Onnie Willis tied with Godwin with a 9.925. Godwin also scored a 9.675 on vault, 9.750 on bars, 9.050 on beam, and 38.400 in the all-around.

Team competitors included No. 1 ranked UCLA taking first with a 197.700. Iowa finished second with a team score of 195.875. Both UCLA and Iowa will advance to the NCAA Championship in Lincoln, Neb., April 24-26. Oregon State placed third scoring 195.850, Arizona took fourth with a score of 195.450, No. 26 ranked Missouri took fifth scoring 194.825, and Illinois-Chicago finished sixth scoring 193.200.
