CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (Wednesday, April 21, 2010) - The Southeast Missouri State University Gymnastic program announced the addition of one recruit for the upcoming 2011 season, Megan Fosnow.

Fosnow is a native of Greenfield, Wisc. and trains at Midwest Twisters Gymnastics in Franklin, Wisc. under club coaches Katie Giuffre and Rick Nelson. She was the 2005 Level 8 State All-Around Champion, Regional qualifier. She qualified for the 2006 Level 9 Regional competition and placed fourth on vault. She qualified for the 2007 Level 9 Westerns and placed 9th bar, 9th in the all-around, and did not fall on any of the events at the 2007 Westerns. She was also the first alternate to the 2008 Level 10 Nationals. She has compiled a 3.5 cumulative GPA at Greenfield high school.

"Megan comes to us as a potential dark horse. She caught my eye while visiting her gym during the summer of her junior year but unfortunately suffered a season ending injury later that year. At that time many schools crossed her off their recruit list, but I always had a feeling that she would come back strong. After fighting through therapy this past fall, Megan was set to prove that she was capable of competing for a division 1 program. She continued to beat the odds throughout the 2010 season and will look to make immediate impact on our vault, bar, and floor line-ups. Megan was determined from the beginning to be a Redhawk, and we are very excited to add her to the incoming class for this fall. As a whole, they will continue the rise of our program and will have a positive impact on SEMO record books," says coach Kristi Ewasko.
