May 4, 2006

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - (Thursday, May 4, 2006) Gymnastics Head Coach Tom Farden has announced the signing of Missouri prep standout Bryanna Wong to a national letter of intent to compete for the Southeast Missouri State gymnastics team in 2007. Wong was signed during the NCAA National Signing Day which started on Wednesday, April 12.

Wong stands 5-2 and competes for the distinguish Edge Gymnastics Club Team based out of Kansas City, Missouri and is coached by John and Jeri Laudie.

A nine-time Regional qualifier; two as a Level 9 competitor and seven as a Level 10, she was a 2005 Junior Olympic National Qualifier in the all-around. She finished fourth on the beam and fifth in the all-around at the 2005 Regionals.

In 2005 she was the Missouri State champion on the vault, floor and in the all-around. In 2003 she won the state championship on the beam.

"We are extremely excited to have Brie (Bryanna) join our gymnastics program," said Coach Farden. "Amongst her strengths are her tireless work ethic, her tumbling and her beam work."

Dopudja joins early signees Amber Garlotte, Jena Nguyen and Rikara Turner as newcomers for the program for the 2007 season.

"I know that I have said that this past year we have had an impressive list of recruits," said Coach Farden. "But I honestly believe that this year's list of recruits is the program's finest, from their work in the classroom to their work in competition, the athletes coming this fall are outstanding!"
