Amy Cole Named Verizon Academic All-District

<- Senior gymnast Amy Cole of Southeast Missouri State University has been selected as a first team member on the Verizon Academic All-District VII Women's At-Large Team as selected by CoSIDA.

Cole's first team selection makes her eligible for the Verizon Academic All-America ballot. She graduated earlier this month with a 3.99 cumulative grade point average in health management.

Junior tennis player Kay Ehlke was selected second team Verizon Academic All-District. She has a 4.0 grade point average in health administration.

Cole posted a career-high score of 39.075 in the all around and had high scorers of 9.75 on vault, 9.725 on beam and 9.875 on floor.

"Amy is certainly deserving of this high honor," said Southeast gymnastics coach Patty Stotzheim. "She was a major contributor all season long and she maintained her outstanding academic record while practicing long hours and spending a lot of time traveling with the team. She is a true student-athlete who had a great career at Southeast."
