By: Kristen James, Sports Information Assistant

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - (Monday, December 1, 2008) - The Southeast Gymnastics team has released their schedule for the 2008-09 competitive year. A preview of team talents will occur on Dec. 9 at the Intra-Squad meet in Parker at 6 p.m. The annual meet will allow the squad to compete (red vs. black) in preparation for the regular season.

The Redhawks gymnasts will kick-off the season with Midwest Independent Conference foe Illinois State on Jan. 4. The team will then head to Iowa City to take on the GymHawks later in the week (Jan. 9). Iowa finished just one spot ahead of the Redhawks last year, finishing No. 29 overall.

The first home meet of the season against Illinois-Chicago, another MIC rival, will be held on Jan. 17. The team will be back on the road to compete against Texas Woman's University on Jan. 23 in Denton, TX.

A triangular meet is scheduled at home on Jan. 30 against Southern Utah and conference school Centenary. On Feb. 6 the Redhawks take on No. 20 Missouri Tigers. This in-state rivalry will be held in Columbia at 6:30 p.m.

The Southeast gymnastics team will have two home meets in a row against Illinois State (Feb. 13) and Ball State (Feb. 19). The meet on the 19th will be the annual "Outback Steakhouse Night" here in Houck Field House.

The team will hit the road on Feb. 27 against Kent State. The Redhawks will then head to Centenary College on March 6 for their last meet on the road.

Rounding out the end of the regular season, the Redhawks will take on Air Force at home on March 14 at 7 p.m. for "Senior Night".
