Dec. 6, 2010

Nov. 28 - Dec. 4
After a great Thanksgiving Break we came back into the gym with a great attitude! This week is week two of our four-week cycle.

We started off the week Monday morning with our cardio circuit in the gym. Although it was difficult, we kept a positive attitude and came out strong!

This week in the gym we broke down our routines on all events to work on the parts that needed more specific attention. Our vaults are coming along well with the landing at competition level.

On bars and beam, we worked a lot on specific skills in order to perfect our routines as a whole.

Our floor routines are looking awesome! The choreography is coming along great and our tumbling is looking better than ever!

We ended our week on Saturday morning with a sprint workout. This was a great week as a whole and the team is looking forward to the Preseason Challenge that’s right around the corner!

On Saturday afternoon, the team got together and cheered on our football team as they took on Eastern Washington in the playoffs. We had so many delicious treats! Although they didn’t win, we still had a great time being together and supporting our fellow athletes.

The spotlight this week is on Sophomore Sarah Brillhart. She comes to us from Wichita, Kansas.

She’s majoring in Elementary Education and hopes to be a third grade teacher someday!

Her favorite foods are quesadillas and nachos and loves baking.

Her favorite fruits are strawberries, watermelon and blueberries and her favorite dessert is French Silk Pie.

When asked what her favorite SEMO memory was, she responded, “tripping at the Denver airport and throwing my bags through the air with Cindy Gannon!”

If she could marry one celebrity she would marry Shia LaBeouf.

Sarah’s goal this season is to be in lineup on beam and floor!

She’s a smiling face in the gym and loves doing stupid things to make the team laugh!
