Southeast beats Indiana State in Season Opener

Cape Girardeau - Southeast Soccer beats Indiana State in their regular season opener by a score of 2-0. Junior forward Erika Todd scored the first goal of the season with an assist from Junior Valerie Henderson. Junior Julie Wunderlich score the second goal for the Otahkians unassisted from nearly 35 yards away.

Southeast defenses played a strong game. Sophomore Marla Gianino was phenomenal at controlling the midfield. Sophomore goalie Amanda Wrzos completed the game with only one shot on goal the entire game.

The Otahks will finish the Labor Day Tournament on Sunday in Houck Stadium at 2:00 p.m. against Belmont, who was defeated tonight by Murray State 6-1.
