NATCHITOCHES, La. - The Southeast Missouri State soccer team fell 2-0 to the Northwestern State Lady Demons tonight in Natchitoches, La. With the loss, the Redhawks now fall to 4-3, while the Lady Demons improve to 6-1 on the year.

Southeast outshot Northwestern State 8-7, but had no corner kicks in the match. The first goal of the match came in the 45th minute right at the end of the half from Chelsey Gibbs from a free kick off the left side. There was no assist on the play.

The second goal of the night to secure the victory for NSU came in the 73rd minute of play from Maddy Hall as she shot the ball from 30 yards out right over goalkeeper Kaitlyn Smugala's head to secure the 2-0 win for the Lady Demons. There was also no assist on this goal.

In goal, Kaitlyn Smugala made her return after her injury earlier in the season. She recorded one save, while giving up two goals in her return.

The Redhawks will travel home on Sunday when they take on Western Kentucky at 2 p.m.
