Soccer Records 3rd Shutout

Cape Girardeau, Mo. - Junior goalkeeper Amanda Wrzos and freshman Molli Beard combine in goal to shutout the Sycamore offense in 0-0 tie. The Otahkians record their 2nd straight shutout and their 3rd shutout on the season, as they have held Oakland University, the University of Evansville, and Indiana State all scoreless through 110 minutes of play.


 
Southeast improves to 4-1-3 as their unbeaten streak moves to 5 games. Unfortunately though, the Otahkians were unable to score today as they took 19 shots and 9 on goal. Sophomore midfielder Megan Hejlek led the Otahkian offensive strike with 5 shots and 2 on goal. Following closely behind was senior midfielder Julie Wunderlich and junior midfielder Marla Gianino with 3 shots a piece.

In goal junior Amanda Wrzos played just over 108 scoreless minutes as she turned away 8 Indiana State shots on goal. Freshman Molli Beard finished out the scoreless game in goal for the Otahkians.

The Otahkians will be back in action this Tuesday, September 23 at home as they host their first conference game of the season against Austin Peay. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 pm at Houck Stadium.
