MURRAY, KY. (October 3, 2000) - The Southeast Missouri State Otahkian soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Murray State on Tuesday. The shutout marked the third consecutive game Southeast has gone without a goal, its longest slump of the season.

Despite Southeast controlling the ball most of the half and registering 13 shots, Murray got a breakaway goal by Brooke Lencki at 33:38 to take a 1-0 lead. The Racers added an insurance goal by Jackie Thomas less than two minutes into the second half to cap the scoring.

The Otahkians (4-4-1, 0-2 OVC) have lost three straight games including the its only two Ohio Valley Conference games. Just two weeks ago Southeast was ranked 10th in the nation in scoring offense. Since that time they have failed to score in dropping decisions to Southwest Missouri, Tennessee Tech and Murray.

Southeast will attempt to win its first OVC game of the season as it travels to Morehead State to play the Eagles at 4 p.m. on Friday. The Otahkians will complete its four game road swing with a Sunday matinee against Georgetown (Ky.) College at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
