Southeast soccer is undefeated in the OVC after beating Tennessee Tech

Cookeville, Tenn. - Southeast soccer is undefeated in the Ohio Valley Conference after beating Tennessee Tech 2-1. The Otahkians' record now stands at 8-4-1 overall and 2-0 in the OVC for the 2002 season.

Junior Valerie Henderson led the Otahks with four shots, two on goal, and assisted sophomore Marla Gianino for the first goal of the game. The game-winning goal came from freshman Ashley DeRoy and was assisted by Michelle Frossard. Gianino, Diana Poovey, and Erika Todd had two shots during the game. Julie Wunderlich, Lisa Schweppe and Megan Hejlek each got a shot in the game. The team had a total of 14 shots and 8 shots on goal.

Tennessee Tech scored in the last 20 minutes of playing time by a breakaway shot for Jill Burns. Burns and Robyn Vince each had four shots during the game.

Southeast travels back home to meet the Lipscomb Lady Bisons tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. in Houck Stadium. Admission is $3.00 for adults, $1.00 for children (6-18) and free for Southeast students.
