Southeast dominates Lipscomb

Cape Girardeau - The Southeast Missouri State Soccer team dominated the game and the field tonight as they shutout Lipscomb University 3-0.

It was a record breaking game for the Otahks as they broke the total shots record in a game of 45 with 47. The previous record was set on October 23, 2000, against Lipscomb.

Junior Valerie Henderson, junior Erika Todd, and freshman Megan Hejlek scored Southeast's goals. Henderson's goal was scored from 30 yards out.

Todd had an amazing 10 shots during the game before leaving late with a knee injury. Southeast sophomore goalkeeper Amanda Wrzos played the entire game facing only two shots.

Jennifer Brittingham tended goal for Lipscomb for the majority of the game. She faced over 30 shots and had 16 saves. She had to leave the game with 27:00 remaining because of an injury.

Southeast's next game is scheduled October 18th at Morehead State and they will come home on the 25th to face off with Austin Peay.
