Redhawk's Soccer Wins 2-1 over Jacksonville State

Oct. 14, 2005

Box Score

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - (Friday October 14, 2005) Southeast controlled the ball most of the game and came out with a 2-1 win over conference rival Jacksonville State.  The Redhawks were led by senior Lisa Schweppe who had two goals.  Schweppe game winning goal came off of a free kick at late in the second period.

The Redhawks pick up another conference win to improve their conference record to 4-1-1.  The win should put Southeast into a tie for second place in the OVC.

The only hiccup of the night was a goal early in the first half scored by Christina Balint.  The Redhawk's defense allowed only five shots and three shots on goal.  Goalkeeper Lindsay Pickering had two saves on the night.  The opposing goalie Amanda Stephens had six saves out of eight shots on goal.

Schweppe's first goal was assisted by senior Mary Kalinowski, her second assist of the season.  Schweppe's second goal was a free kick and unassisted.

Southeast's next game is against another conference rival, Samford on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.  The game will be held at Houck Stadium.
