Southeast Soccer Team Begins Practice Thursday, Aug. 12th

The 2004 Southeast soccer squad reported to campus on Tuesday, August 10 and will officially start practice on Thursday the 12th. Preseason will consist of practice twice a day until the start of school on Aug. 23rd.

The Otahkians will get a quick start to their season with their first exhibition game being played Friday, Aug. 20th at 6:00 p.m. at Houck Stadium against Memphis. The Otahks will also play Drury in an exhibition game on Sunday, Aug. 22nd at 2 p.m. at Houck Stadium.

The Otahkians will have a tough schedule this year, including Illinois and Xavier. Both Illinois and Xavier will travel to Cape Girardeau to compete against the Otahkians.

There will be six new faces this year to watch for on the Southeast soccer team, they include freshman Alaina Lacopo, Lauren Costello, Margie Schaeffler, Megan Matter, Emily Newsham and senior Carina Souza who will be making her mark in soccer following a standout career for the Otakian basketball program.
