BRENTWOOD, Tenn. - According to a vote of OVC women's soccer coaches, the Southeast Missouri State soccer team is picked to finish exactly where it finished a season ago, in third place.

Southeast picked up 16 points, which tied them for third along with Murray State, who enters its second season of soccer in 2001. 2000 OVC Tournament Champion Tennessee Tech led the way with 22 points and three first-place votes, followed by 2000 regular season champion Eastern Illinois, who picked up 21 points and two first-place votes. Morehead State was picked to finish fifth with Tennessee-Martin slated for sixth.

Southeast, which compiled a 10-6-1 record in 2000, is hoping to be involved in the tight OVC race this season. The Otahkians will be led by seniors Nichole Thiele and Beth Guccione and an incoming freshman class of 10 that provides the team even more depth and talent than a season ago.
