Southeast Falls to Drury in Penalty Kicks
Aug. 22, 2004 Drury came out and scored the first goal in the first half of the game. Southeast came back in the second half and scored to tie the game with a goal by Erin Slattery, assisted by Emily Newsham. Drury went ahead of Southeast, but the Otahkians fought back and tied the game with less than four minutes left with a corner kick from Megan Hejlek to Margie Schaeffler. She scored her goal with a header into the upper part of the net. To get ready for the season the teams went straight into Penalty Kicks to decide the game. Drury edged out Southeast in sudden deaths penalty kicks. This ends Southeast's exhibition games. Southeast opens their regular season Friday Aug. 27th at 7:00 p.m. at home against Arkansas.
